Good to hear you're doing fine. Nah mate, college sucks and I really hate it. I wish I had never graduated from high school, I wish I could go back in time to school again. When I was in school, I was dreaming of the day when I graduate and then attend university, but since I am there now, I wish I could go back to school. Oh well, you can't always get what you wish for.
Good luck Sav.

Wow. My university years were probably the best of my life. My daughter will leave for college in 2010 and I am both excited for her and extremely jealous of the part where I do all the work to pay for her to have all the fun. I'm sorry you're not enjoying yourself, Terek. Is it the classes? The people? The atmosphere? Is there something you can change that will make the experience better for you?

And, yea.. my daughter is 17... conceived about a year after I graduated from college and got married. You can do the math from there if you like.

My undergrad degree is in Communication Studies with a minor in Psychology. My graduate degree is in education. College rocked. Life in the dorms was a blast. I wouldn't trade the experience for anything.

Everyone says they wouldnt trade it, but im kinda scared of it. Dorms, roomates drunk, sex while im trying to study or sleep. Stealing things, communal showers. ugh...i guess i like my space alot. Ive never had to share with another person (only child).

I grew up as an only child too, but I was excited about the idea of sharing a room, of having friends around all the time. I didn't always LOVE my roommates, but I had bunches of friends to hang out with all the time, no rules (my parents had been pretty strict), and, honestly, a safe environment to go a little wild.
You'll have fun. I'll tell you, it's WAY better than getting up and going to work everyday!

For a lot of people University had been the best years of their lives, I don't know why this is just not happening with me too. Well, you can say I screwed up the first three or four weeks of University and I was kind of lost and that's why every bad incident happened in a sequel after that. It was too late for me to not get dropped out of the English course, too late to make up for the tests and quizzes that I had failed in both Political Science and Biology. The coming Biology test will be a final, and I'm pretty sure I can ace it since I took some tuition lessons and I am actually doing pretty well, but guess what? Even if I ace it I'll have about 200 points (MAXIMUM) from 400, which means 2.0 GPA I think and of course I'll be in probation and will probably get kicked out because they are kicking out a lot of students lately. Same thing with the Political Science. Yesterday, my Mom and I were talking after Al-Ahly (it's a sports team in Egypt that is our number one Rival, we cheer for Zamalek) lost and we were all happy and everything, then she asked me "How did you do in the Political Science exam?" I just told her "I failed it" without even thinking about it. So she kept shouting at me and calling me a loser.. but ehhhh ;(.
So I guess you're from the first people to know why I am hating my University. I'm pretty sure if I had started out well, I would have managed well. Good luck to you and your daughter and I hope both you and her are going to have loads of fun! Just tell her not to miss any classes and she'll be good to go. :laugh2:

Academically, my first semester could have been better. My grandfather died during my first month of school. I missed a lot of classes and when I finally went back there was one that I was too far behind in and didn't understand what they were even talking about. I, too, missed a drop deadline and ended up with an unauthorized withdrawl which calculates as an F in my GPA.
Don't give up on yourself. Think positive and do what you can to turn things around. If you end up on academic probation, work your butt off the following semester to demonstrate that you've learned from your mistakes.

I am really sorry (of course that's a really late one) about your grandfather and I hope you hadn't gone through that, but you know, there's a time for every one to go. The same thing happened to me with the English course, the teacher dropped me out for too many absences. She's from Texas and she really is a hard headed woman :D, she didn't want to take me back in. Thank you and I'll keep that in mind. I think if I do well the coming days, I'll end up on academic probation, so I just hope they won't kick me. My mother is already pissed at me, like totally, but my Dad doesn't even know that I failed the Political Science exam yet. And you want to know some thing funny? I don't even know whether I failed the test or not, I just automatically said that because I feel like I did bad in it. Maybe I didn't, I emailed the teacher and waiting for his reply.
Anyway, thank you again.
