Hey guys,
I just got an Apple TV a couple days ago and was wondering if it should be running very warm to the touch while in stand by. It's warmer than my Dish DVR runs but not warm enough to cook an egg ;)
Also, it makes a hum while in stand by, again louder than my Dish DVR but I wouldn't say loud. I wish it had a power switch so I could turn it off. I'm putting it in stand by by holding the pause/play button for 10 seconds and sometimes just unplugging it. Other than those two concerns, I'm really happy with it. It streams a lot better than my PS3 (FF and rewind with PS3 doesn't work well at all).

So, those of you with Apple TV, how would you describe the sound and warmth coming from it?

Thanks

Checked into it and the warmth is normal. However, they should be silent. I'm going to see if Best Buy will exchange it in the morning. If not, I'll just return it and buy another one from Apple.

how do you like it?

i got one earlier this year, and have been fairly happy. The only pain i run into is streaming complications occur more often than i'd like...

Curious as to what you think. I like it, I just don't use it all that often. Mostly for streaming music to my surround sound on the weekends...

I love it. So far it's been flawless with streaming.
