Headphones do certain taskkkkkk

I bought iphone 3g last year sometime around august. came with headphones, worked perfectly talked threw them, listened to music. all of a sudden someday i would say in december or so when i used them i couldnt talk threw them, but i could hear the person talking and all my music? so for easter today, my dad bought me brand new 30 dollar iphone headphones and the same exact problem.. my clicker doesnt work, wont pause songs doesnt do much? im thinking its my phone.. but wow att wont help me for **** and if i head out to apple store they are just gunna feed me bs like thelast two times i was up there for other problems :[[[[

i had the same proble with a new pair of headphones. I was tld to send them back to the manufacturer..but now i wonder too
