I have a stipulation I'm hoping you guys can help with.

I've had my iPhone 3G for about a month now, and with it being jailbroken and all, it's a great device. Seeing as how the new iPhone is coming out this summer, depending on what has changed I am currently tempted to upgrade, even though there isn't too much info out there that I have read about what the new phone will be like.

It just seems to me that every time I buy something new that has been out for a while, a new version comes out a few months later. We've all been there I'm sure.

So, I can always sell my iPhone 3G and buy a new phone this summer, or, wait a while and buy one when I'm eligible for an upgrade, which won't be until 2010.

What do you guys suggest?

I know, it sucks, but it is the way technology works. There will always be something better released than what you have like impaler said. Knowing me I will be on that line for the new one as well, lol.

As long as it has a 32 GB version, I'm definitely buying.

I'll wait for the 2010 model. By then it will be mind activated.

Problem is, half the folks here won't be able to use it.

I am waiting on the Palm Pre to make my decision.

I will never again buy a Palm device. I hated their operating system. I really don't think you can beat Apple. (in some ways)

I'm a V1er, so eligibility isn't an issue for me. I will be getting the new phone.

Trust me, it won't be the same old Palm operating system. I too have hated my previous Palm, but this one will be different. But I am open to both phones I just need to get my hands on both and see.

I think I might get it too, just depends exactly what will change besides software features. I Just hope they have models bigger than 8 and 16 gigs. Can anyone confirm this yet?

Yeah, I've seen demos and I'm glad Palm finally upgraded their OS. I saw a demo on YouTube and I wasn't heavily impressed. Might have been the fact that not much was demoed for me to get excited about. :frown:

Have you ever had Sprint?
I would love to look at the Pre, but Sprint is the deal killer for me.

Sprint is what you do back to AT&T once you've tried Sprints service and CS.

to me, it really depends on what they add. (assuming they do release a new model this summer) im fine with 16gb, so i dont really care much for the storage at this point but im not sure what else they could add to make it worth it. better camera? faster wifi/3g?

most likely i wont, but only time will tell...

I'd be fine with 16GB if I have 7.2mbps connectivity in Philly. I'll stream everything.

There's new iPhone comming out in the summer? I though it was just a software upgrade, not a completely new device.?

Well, I guess it could be possiblity, seeing that that this is their 4th major update (I only count 1.1.1, 1.1.3, 2.0, and 3.0 as major). With 2.0 came the iPhone3G, but with advances in techology, Sprint introducng 4G, so may Apple and AT&T will do the same. If there is new phone, I proabaly won't get it until LONG after its release.
