Iphone always uses 3G even though im properly connected to wifi

i used to have the original iphone and everytime i walked into my house it would connect to wifi and use it over edge whenever i was in range. but now ive switched to an Iphone 3G and it seems to prefer to be on 3G ALL THE TIME it will not use my wifi. but i need it to because 3g is to slow for me now that ive experienced wifi :tounge:

Try going under settings and connecting to your network manually. It should auto remember your network next time.

You can go to settings and put the phone in Airplane mode and turn WiFi back on after the switch to Airplane mode and you will be good to go on WiFi only. You won't however be able to send and receive calls with this configuration.

But stay in settings and make sure your wi-fi remains on. My wifi turns off when I go into Airplane mode but if you manually switch wifi back on 3G stays off and you have just wifi
