When I connect my 3G iPhone to my computer I'm met with the Set Up Your iPhone screen and am given two options in iTunes:
Set up as a new iPhone
or
Restore from the backup
I don't want to set up my iPhone as a new iPhone or restore it -- as far as I can tell my iPhone is working normally. All I want to do is sync. Is there anything I can to to get iTunes to let me sync with my iPhone?
Thanks.

Which firmware are you using? I would just humour Itunes and restore from a backup... Have you recently upgraded / downgraded firmware?

I'm using version 2.21. The only change I've made recently to my iPhone is to install Skype, but I haven't opened the app yet.
Ultimately, I may have to resort to the restore, but before I do I'd like to explore the alternatives, and see if I can figure out why this is happening.

Thanks - I did that and everything works fine. (Oddly, restore took about 2.5 hours.)

Hmm, I had this similar issue once. All I did to correct it was disconnect my iPhone and reconnect, then the message went away. :)
Sorry so late on the reply, though.
