Sync Error 3G iphone

My iphone comes up with an error message when Sync reaches 85% reads as follows;

The iphone ''name's iphone" cannot be synced. An unknown error occurred (-39).

Can anybody advise on how to fix this problem?

Watch the sync to determine which portion is failing..ie video, pictures..whatever. Uncheck that sync then sync Iphone and let it erase data for that section. Then re enable that sync section and sync again.

Welcome to EIC Vasilis. BrownGem is pretty right on. I frequently have problems syncing and through a process of elimination I solve the problem. Occasionally I have to do a restore.
