I tried calling Apple to flag it's Serial Number because MacBook Air's HAVE to go back to Apple for battery replacement. But they wouldn't do it.

Is it something I'll have to get done in person at the store that I bought it from or is it... no use.

I loved that thing! :frown:

Wow, sorry to hear that. Is it possible they might return it (was it found) or was it definitely stolen?

Definitely stolen... snatched right out of my hand.

So Apple does NOTHING to help out? I can show proof of purchase or the same credit card...

Apple won't help if it was a trackable iPhone (IMEI#), so no they won't help with a MacBook Air. Your best bet is the local police.

Snatched right out of your hand? That's awful! Where were you? Did anyone see the guy to be able to help identify him to the police? Are you okay?

Chris is right - the only people who can help you now are the police. You may want to keep an eye on your email accounts and such - some thieves aren't all that smart and he might start using your Air without re-installing OS X and send and receive email using accounts you already have set up on it...

Yes, I'm fine. Thank you for asking. I did go to the police and all they told me was to try the pawn shops! Everyone saw it, it was 12 in the afternoon, on a busy street right outside my university residence. But who would try ans stop three 6-foot black guys. The cameras were SO sucky that one can't even identify the guys face, it gets too blurry.

I had just got it a day before so even I hadn't set up anything on it.

Well, I guess it's gone.

Thanks for the help!

that's terrible.

but for future reference there is an application called LoJack (http://www.lojackforlaptops.com/) that can trace a laptop if it gets stolen.

again stated this is why I carry a HK45. The .45 doesn't care how big or tall they are.

LMAO
I still would find it hard to shoot a guy because he stole something. Maybe I'm just a pansy idk.

How did you pay for it? If you paid with a credit card, try calling the credit card company, it might cover theft. I remember Best Buy had some kind of (automatic?) insurance for theft/damage for a laptop I bought a few years ago.
