First off, thank you for visiting EverythingiCafe. Started in April of 2006, EverythingiCafe is the world's first iPhone forum and home to over 95,000 registered members. Our site serves roughly 1.5 million visitors per month.
With the vast amount of applications in the App Store, it's getting more and more difficult to get your App in front of potential customers. Whether you have a free app or a paid app, promotion is a key element to the success of most applications.
Here at EverythingiCafe, we receive countless press releases on new app releases and it's simply not practical to include ever app in our news cycle. Over the past few months, we've seen a number of developers look to our forums in an effort to promote their apps. Some have offered up creative promotions for our readers, but that's probably the minority. It's also difficult for EIC administrators to know whether developers are following through on their promise. The App Store forum has been "overcrowded" with announcements. This takes away from the intended purpose of the App Store forum, which is readers taking about Apps. To restore the quality of content within the App Store forum, we are amending our forum policy with regards to developer posts.
Announcements from App Store developers are permitted in iPhone App Announcements (http://www.everythingicafe.com/forum/iphone-app-announcements/). Do not bump your announcement, unless you are releasing an update to your app. In that case, please use the original announcement thread for your app.
Can I offer promo codes?
Yes, but you must go through the proper channels. Please contact me directly and we'll set up a program for you. If you post an offer without consent, it will be deleted.
Can I link to reviews?
No, you are not permitted to link to other sites. You are however permitted to link to your App within the App Store, where readers can see reviews from your customers.
Can I link to my app?
Yes, you can link to the iTunes store. You can link to your site, but we require you link back to EverythingiCafe.
How do I go about promoting my application at EverythingiCafe?
We encourage developers to contact us regarding opportunities to promote their application. We would be happy to discuss advertising opportunities and/or inclusion in some sort of joint promotion.
Does it cost anything?
No, we do not charge you for promotions. Developers must agree to provide a select number of coupon codes to the administrators of EIC, so that they may be properly distributed to winners of our weekly contest.
What happens if I post an announcement in the wrong category?
You will receive an infraction. Multiple infractions will likely result in removal of forum privileges.
How do I contact EverythingiCafe regarding promotions?
