Can anyone recommend a in car cradle for the iphone 3g. I have tried some vent holders which did not fit my ford cougar? Ideally one that plugs into cigarette holder. I live in N IRELAND.

You could start by looking here (http://store.everythingicafe.com/). I assume they ship worldwide.

This is where I got my passenger seat bolt mount:

Great service, too.
Depends on what you are looking for too. If you just want something to hold the phone, there are plenty out there for you, in your area.
If you are looking for something that holds the phone and has a "pass-through" connector on it, then it's a bit harder to locate, but I would say to start at http://www.proclipusa.com/Default.asp

By far I have found the 2 part solution from ProClip to be the best. Part one, makes it location and car specific, part two makes it item specific
I am currently using this one.
Item No. 875214 - Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel

This Adjustable Holder with Tilt Swivel was designed with the Apple iPhone and iPod Touch in mind, but it may also fit other devices with a skin or case. The Holder will adjust from 2.3" (60mm) to 3.2" (82mm) (javascript:openWindow('/site/framework/scripts/popup.asp?path=' + escape('/media/images/products/devicecradle/875214.jpg') + '&width=480&height=480&pageid=13758', 'imagepopup', 480, 480);)http://www.proclipusa.com/core/framework/images/spacer.gifhttp://www.proclipusa.com/site/framework/images/zoom.gif (javascript:openWindow('/site/framework/scripts/popup.asp?path=' + escape('/media/images/products/devicecradle/875214.jpg') + '&width=480&height=480&pageid=13758', 'imagepopup', 480, 480);)
http://www.proclipusa.com/core/framework/images/spacer.gif In the past I have used their clip in several different cars, it leaves no marks and simple fits in and holds where I need it to. Currently I have modified a Ram suction mount to hold a optional plate as well as two mounts (the one above) and a TomTom adapter, fitted to my Ford Escape.
