Loosing Edge at random

whats up guys. im using a 3g with rebel sim on tmobile usa. What happens is that sometimes the looses edge only. The only way i can get it back is to take sim out, put it in another phone and then put it back into the iphone. Does any1 know what causes this?? or any tips how to deal with it??

Sounds like your phone isn't doing it's regular "handshake" with the network.
Normally, ever now and then ( sometimes as often as 5 mintes) your phone is supposed to send out a signal that basically says "i am here, are you there?" and the tower sends back one that basically says the same thing. Then they both confirm each other and end it. If you are having problems maintaining the signal, then either the SIM is having issues, or your phone is. Try toggling Airplane mode the next time it happens with at least 10 seconds between turning it on and then off.

it happened to me again today, and nothing worked exept when i took the sim out. The weirdest thing is that i can receive sms and calls. The only thing that doesnt work is edge. Any recommendation of what i should do?? Do you think its just a bug in the rebel sim?? thanx

Maybe. i would contact the manufacturer regardless and let them know what is happening.
