I have been reading into creating my own theme for my phone, but I'm not 100% sure on how lol. I was reading the sticky on modmyi.com but it seems like maybe that whole tutorial is intended for mac users? ( http://www.modmyi.com/forums/winterboard/282971-how-make-your-own-winterboard-theme-tutorial.html ) Or maybe I am just missing something? Is there a program I should have? Is there a way to change these things on the phone itself? Or am I supposed to do it on the computer then SSH it to the phone? I'm so confused, but I'd really like to make my own theme. Any input is appreciate. As always, you guys here on EIC always have the answer!

Yep you can make your own in Photoshop. If you don't have Photoshop, you can download the free open source alternative called GIMP. You'll need a SSH program to get into the phones directory. iPhoneBrowser is the best IMO. To get started, you could just modify a theme you already have. Change some of the icons and wallpaper etc by saving them to your desktop, modifying them, and then dragging them back into iPhoneBrowser and overwriting the old image. You'll need to "respring" for them to take effect. Sometimes the themes include .PSD files so you can easily edit them in Photoshop. For example, I downloaded a slider (slide to unlock) in Cydia that had a PSD file in the theme. I was then able to very easily delete the text layer on it and created a new layer with my own custom text.

Yeah you can. I sorta created my own theme by photoshopping icons I got from multiple themes. Here is what it looked like back when I was jailbroken.

If you notice I changed signal bars to green when up and red when dead. Its much easier to see if you have 4 or 5 bars. Or sometimes 1 or none.
