Retired after 28 yrs in the USAR 10 years ago. So I am probably old enough to be your grandfather. I was 2 yrs active and 26 in the Reserves. My war was Vietnam. I went to Bragg for Vietnamese language school. I worked in a program in conjunction with the Company and SF. Originally from Texas.

Cool deal, I was in for 12 years (National Guard) but decided to get out.

It may be to late but if you can pick up another 8 yrs as you know you will be eligible for retirement benefits and health coverage. I just lucked into it and never thought about the benefits at the end of the road. In retrospect I am glad I did. I had a very interesting career and met a number of really great people.
