Does anyone know if it is true that the Maps GPS now has a download that makes it voice directions?

I think you need to be slightly more specific. Is the App called "Maps GPS"? And can I assume that you are not talking about the native (Google)Maps app on the iPhone?

The program is called 'xGPS' and it is only available on jailbroken phones....but yes, it does have voice navigation. :)

It's a pretty good app but the voice is very low. I was going to try and use my iPod hookup in my car to see if it'll work through the speakers. I haven't got around to it yet.

The sound should go through the car speakers, as long as the phone isnt on silent.

Thatsthe same thing with voicecalls. The phone can't be on speaker.

if i would get my phone jailbroken would it not be covered under warranty?

The hardware will still be, but if you JB and have to take the phone to a Genius, do a restore in iTunes first to remove it. Otherwise they won't help you.
