Jaadu VNC Help

Hi,

Im running Vista Business and have just started using JaaduVNC but it doesnt work for me. I can connect to my laptop but when i try to tap/click or use any of the functions it does not respond. anyone encounter this problem?

Im using JaaduVNC 2.0 + UltraVNC.

Make sure that your server side settings are not setup to only allow viewing. Right Click on the VNC server iCon in the system tray and select Admin Properties. In the middle of the window that opens up, there is the option to disable Viewer inputs. Make sure that is NOT checked.
In Jaadu, click the Blue arrow next to the server and then click on Advanced. Make sure that controls is On.
Try that and report back. I've been using VNC products for the better part of 6 years, and have had quite a few hurtles to overcome here and there.

hmm i finally got it to work, but the screen refresh rate on the iphone is painfully slow. any solution to that? its like when i click to run a new app it doesnt show up until like a good minute or so.. this is so unlike the instantaneous refresh rate shown on the video.

i've already set my "refresh rate" option on the iphone to "fastest" but it doesnt seem to be helping.

any ideas?

I have my colors set to Thousands, my refresh rate is set to "Connection Decides"
On the server side, you should have the background turn off at connection, and try setting it to "Ultra". I can connect over 3G almost as fast as wifi. Edge is a little slow, but not too bad. It depends a lot on the server side connection to the internet. if that connection is slow it will really affect you.

hmm im actually doing a "local sharing" setting (i.e. setup a temp wifi connection so that my iphone can connect with my laptop) so i dont think the connection is a problem.. and i've already set the refresh to "Ultra" so i cant figure it out :frown: it is so slow i cant use the vnc without having to look at my laptop screen lol

Do you have it set to turn off your desktop wallpaper when connected? that is a HUGE drag on connectivity response.

Mmm after messing around with the settings abit there's only one option which seems to boost the refresh rate.. that is to "remove aero".. the wallpaper isnt such a big issue.. but that can get pretty irritating cos now there's no more aero animation when i toggle my windows.. i guess there's no way around this :angry:

You should have gotten Jaadu RDP which seems to work better for Windows Vista and has a really easy to setup Jaadu RDP Connect program to download.

Im not sure if Jaadu VNC does this but RDP uses Vista Business standard remote desktop feature.

i just installed this app on my iphone. everything works okay except one major detail. everytime i click the keyboard icon on my iphone to fill in a field on my safari screen, i can still move around my desktop screen but cant click anything anymore. all the controls freeze up. this happens when i try to use the remote icon, and modifier key icon. really frustrating. please help!
