Actual TV on the iPhone...

i hashed together a way to watch actual television on my iphone while on the go.

ingredients:
Apple Computer
iPhone
EyeTV for the mac
iCam for the iphone
iCamSource for the mac
Air Mouse Pro for the iPhone

What i did:
I open icamsource for the mac, which streams your live camera feed for viewing on the iphone, i used my xbox360 usb camera so that i could position it so that it is facing the screen, mirrored the screen settings so that it wouldnt be backwards from the webcam, open EyeTV on the mac, chose a channel, then opened iCam on my iPhone and watched whatever was on tv, usually my favorite channel. then i occasionally use air mouse to change the channel, with iCam in backgrounder.

i know it sounds like a hassle, but its a way to watch broadcast tv, not some pre-recorded stuff.

iCam supports sound now!

Or you could just use Orb Live and a TV tuner...

Hehe ouch. He's right, though. Your way may be cheaper though (cost me $110 to get my orb setup going, app included)

I currently use OrbLive for Live TV, but I just ordered a Slingbox Solo from Newegg for $149.00 in hopeful anticipation of quick approval by Apple (stop laughing) when Slingmedia submits their Slingbox app at the end of March.

Since we're on the general topic, why do you want Slingbox so bad when you have Orb running already, Naps? I know it does more, I'm just curious what key features sold you.

I have intermittent issues with live TV using OrbLive and I'm hearing that picture quality is better with Slingbox.

I pluged my set up box into the video card on my PC's graphic card.
Downloaded a webcam viewer: Jumi Cam, to my iPhone http://www.jumitech.com
and now I watch tv anytyime anywhere :2cool: with impressing frame rate

So, the computer thinks your TV input is a webcam? How do you change channels?
