Help with Custom SMS Sound

I want to use a custom sound as my SMS notifcation but all of the tutorials I have seen, only work on older versions of iTunes. I have iTunes 8.0.2.20 and my iPhone is a jailbroken 2.2.1. I have the sound at about 1 second and it's imported into iTunes as an m4r.

I believe the only way to change your SMS sounds is thru SSH'ing. Go into system > audio > UIsounds. Then you have to replace one of the SMSreceived.caf with your sound. The name MUST be the same, and it will be replacing one of your existing sounds so save the stock one to your computer if you want to keep it.
