Best Buy has $100 off iPhones this week for Premium Rewards members. The 8GB is $99 and the 16GB is $199 (new contract). I don't really need 16GB, but if I buy one now I am sure I'll want to get the new one later this year. I assume the 16GB would be worth the extra $100 as it would probably sell better. Good assumption?

Excellent assumption! The more storage space, the better.

I'd go with a 16g because for regular people the 2 year contract pricing for an 8 gig is $199.99 so if you can get double for the money, do it! Thats a sweet deal.

I have a 250GB iPhone 3G.
Just use Orb Live to stream all your content from your PC or Mac at home... Music, Pics, Documents, etc. and you won't need to store anything on your iPhone.

Where in the world do you get a 250GB iPhone 3G? Or are you just joking?

The iPhone doesn't have a physical 250GB hard drive. My iPhone uses ORB Live to stream all my content from my PC to my iPhone using 3G or wifi. So even if my iPhone is empty, I still have all my music and videos. Plus, with my TV Tuner, I get the benefit of live TV on my iPhone.
Edit - Last time I checked, ORB Live doesn't work with Macs.

I'd definitely go for the 16GB, like you guys said, more storage more better!
My friends are all using a 16GB iPhone 3G as they always go online through the phone and download a lot of cool stuffs and software.
