I want to buy an iphone, but I cant upgrade until June 2010, if I tried to buy an iphone now via apple/at&t, I would have to pay an EXTRA $200 on top just to get the phone early.
Lets say I buy an iphone off ebay, put my sim card in it and activate it via AT&T. My wife is the primary account holder with her own iphone, my line is a 2nd line on the plan.
Then I was planning on waiting until 2010 when the next generation of iphone comes out and then ditching the old one and that way I can get a brand new iphone when I can upgrade again without paying the stupid $200 penalty.
Will this work? Or will AT&T know that I tried to upgrade early by buying off ebay and stick me with another 2 years before I can upgrade again?
