downgrade software ?

ok i just got a old ipod touch 8 g and it has 2.2 on it can i downgrade so i can jailbreak ?

you should be able to jailbreak 2.2 without a problem. In fact, you can jailbreak 2.2.1.

UNLESS you have a second generation touch... in which case it is not possible to jailbreak it at all.
