Quick question about iPod & iPhone chargers

I want to buy a car charger for my iPhone. I found one online that says it works with the iPod and iPhone. Before I spend my hard earned money, I would like to know if the iPhone and iPod both use the same type if interface adapter on the unit. I only own the iPhone, I've never had an iPod, so I can't tell.

Am I safe to buy something that says it works with the iPod for my iPhone?

you can find one for 1$ on amazon that is for iphone specific, the one for ipod/iphone might work i dont know....just buy one for a buck

If this item has online reviews read those first to see if it is iPhone/iPod compatible. I know my charger that came with my 30g iPod video doesn't charge my iPhone. But my iPhone charger will charge my iPod.

I agree with Skol...you don't need to spend a lot of money on one of these. I got my car charger on eBay for $2.95 with free shipping and it works just fine.
