I need some advice here. I sold my old first gen iphone on ebay, with pictures and everything stating that there are minor scratches in the back, I took pictures in every angle possible to show the condition of the phone. The buyer got the phone and said it's more scratched than described and he wants a "solution". He said the phone is trashed (it is NOT) and he paid too much for it.

I am not going to let him get away with this, how would you respond to him?

Tell him he bought a used iphone as is. You provided images and the iphone in those images was the exact unit he received.

Thats helpful, thank you. I didn't want to deal with him and at first, was gonn ask him to ship it back to me, but i started to worry that he's gonna scratch the phone and send it back to me.

How exactly did you word your auction? Did you state that it was going to be sold as-is with no returns or refunds?

I've sold iPhones on eBay before and found that the picture quality is degraded before they're posted and the details get lost. Were the pictures in your auction (not the ones on your computer that you uploaded) clear enough to show the true condition of the iPhone? I'm not saying you're lying, but it's pretty easy for pictures on eBay to be misleading because of what is done to them before they're posted...

I see where you are coming from macgirl but wolf doesnt sound like he was hiding anything. If the buyer is only complaining about scratches then its tough luck. If he was that anal he could have requested more pictures or a video. He knew the phone wasnt new.

Hi there, Here is my terms:
Please read description carefully as everything is stated as is, no returns will be accepted.
I try to be careful showing all the scratches and I did go to the auction to look at the pictures and it's very clear. I used auctiva and it's showing all the pics nicely. I stated in the auction that i protect the phone the best I could, but there are minor scratches that are from normal day to day wear and tear.
What i'm worried now is, if I will not accept a return from him, he files paypal and for some reason he wins, he'll trash my phone and send it back to me.
I don't know what to do.

If this was stated in the auction than you have nothing to worry about. If you haven't already, I would send a nice email pointing out the terms of the sale and that you are sorry he is not happy but no returns are accepted. Then I would not think another thing about it. Let him rant to whomever he wants. If ebay and/or paypal see your terms, they will tell him sorry but no help from us.
The thing is you don't know where the guy is coming from. Maybe he decided he didn't want the phone after all, lost a job and can't afford it now, ect. The list could go on forever. Not your problem. If he keeps sending email, hit the delete button.

Just did what you said, hopefully he'll understand, he can easily resell this on ebay.

Tell him to buy a case...he has no leg to stand on and eBay/Paypal would see it the same way.

I actually gave him a free case as a bonus. Being nice not necessarily get good rewards. :(

Yeah, don't loose any sleep over this one and don't let it discourage you from buying/selling on ebay. You just got a nut job of a buyer on this one. I have over 300 transactions on ebay ( mostly buying) and have had very few problems. Almost all were worked out.

Good luck with that. I know that ebay can be a rollercoaster ride at times. I think you were well within your boundaries. I'm always worried PayPal would pull a payment just because the buyer was an a$$. Also, I don't think you can leave bad feedback for a buyer anymore... that sucks.
