If you recently bought a macbook with iLife '08, Apple is offering an upgrade to iLife '09 for $9.95. The link is on the Apple site bottom page of Macbook/Pro homepage. They already sent me my DVD. I got my Aluminum in November.

From Apple's website:

iLife ’09, a significant upgrade to Apple’s digital lifestyle applications, features updates to iPhoto, iMovie, GarageBand, and iWeb. If you’ve purchased a qualifying computer on or after January 6, 2009, that does not include iLife ’09, you can upgrade to iLife ’09 for US$9.95 plus tax.*

WTF! NOT FAIR! They wouldn't send me one for $9.95! I purchased mine in December! The site even says it's for people who purchased one after 1/6/09!! I'm going to give them a call tomorrow...

Wait, they don't ask for order number or anything? You basically cheated the system?

It just needed the macs serial number and purchase date. I registered mine in November so I guess yea. There's probably a bug or it doesent verify the purchase date. It said it needed the reciept verifacation if you are going to fax the form.

I would just be scared that I'd be getting a bill for the difference when someone figures out that I didn't buy my mac after Jan whatever....

I had called apple on the 6th after buying my MacBook on Dec 24th talked to a lady there and after being put on hold several time she came back and told me they would do the 9.95 price for me and i could order on the 12th.

Went on the 12th and wasnt able to enter the purchase date so i called them again . This time i was told i COULD NOT get it and would have to pay the purchase price.

I informed the gentleman that i had an email confirming that i could get it then after being put on hold several more time he came back with some attitude telling me i didnt qualify for it but since i was told i did and had the email they would send it to me no charge

i must say iPhoto is awesome :)

I'm sorry, but I gotta... HA!!!! But seriously, that sucks, doesn't matter what kind of computer it is.

And to the OP:

You're evil, you know that ;). I just couldn't resist and I a bad thing on the upgrade page too! Well, best case I only pay 10 bucks, worse case I pay two installments, one of 10 bucks and another for 70....
