I hope it's right. This is why I still don't have a 3g. My wife will be happy. She wanted an iPhone as soon as we got married but I told her it had to wait till the new one came out so we could both upgrade at the same time.

I don't have the same issues you guys have. I'm not married. But I have been waiting for nearly 2 years to buy an iPhone. This third generation would be my very first iPhone. I wanted to wait for this particular version, just to see the iPhone develop and make improvements. I think the time has finally arrived for this Summer when I will finally make the purchase.

I wanted to wait for this particular version, just to see the iPhone develop and make improvements. LOL..It has been a long wait. I know most here would think I was crazy for waiting this long, but I always believe in waiting for new technology to develop a bit before making the purchase. I know the majority have to have it right away and that is cool also.

My only concern is that I won't be able to get it as an update. I got my 3g launch day so it'll be less than a year. Besides that I might wait to see if a video recorder and mms is onboard. If not what's the use to upgrade for a 3.2 mp camera and a different cover.

yeah, but the 3g and gps were much needed features. plus the flush headphone jack and improved audio were nice too. (and the black plastic cover :2cool:)

but you people are going OVERBOARD with all these things yall want in a new version. TWO cameras??!! a slide-out keyboard???!! an iphone NANO????!!!! i mean come on! thats just rediculous... stuff like an improved camera, bigger storage, kinda make sense. but all that other stuff is crazy talk!!!

Seriously, if the pictures and specs end up being real, it'll be my last phone for a while (well, until I break it or drop it in the toilet). Since I had to buy a 3g model earlier than I anticipated, I bought it subsidized. I don't think I'll be eligible for an upgrade yet, but with real GPS, 32gb, and an undoubtedly more robust processor, I'll be getting one sooner than later. After the Adobe Flash talk recently, I'm betting (well, hoping anyway) some of the more glaring deficiencies will finally be addressed...

I'm also hoping for a more robust cpu (possibly the quad-core as rumored?) and an enhanced graphics chip. An increase in RAM would be nice, too, as I suspect that apps are going to start growing in size anyway.

But now the PRE looks good to me too, so I really am hoping Apple will also come out with something just as good, they almost have to. Bring it on Apple!

Going back to a recessed headphone jack would certainly be a step in the wrong direction. That was a terribly annoying feature.

Ummm, I'm skeptical of the removable battery. Yea, that would be great, but Apple hasn't implemented this on any of their devices. Why would they start now?

Also, having "true" GPS would certainly squash garmin's rush to the smartphone market.

I agree I dont see a removable battery coming any time soon (read ever). I mean they just made the mac book pro 17" non removable, why would they go backwards.

Also non removable batteries are easier to integrate because they take less space so the actual battery can be larger.

I think I'm starting to see the big picture. They'll call the next one iPhone Video (sound familiar?) and it will sport the better camera, faster CPU, and front-facing camera necessary to make it a real multimedia beast. Plus AT&T has really been working on their 3G network lately. Beefing up for summer? If Apple keeps the price the same, everyone will be video chatting in America. Finally, the future?

there are still much needed features that are lacking... like a better battery and more powerful processor and graphics.

I like it better because less of the jack is hanging out of the phone. I think it makes it easier to be in my pocket. The iPhone was so popular that numerous headphone manufactures adjusted the size of their jacks to work with it. I've simply never had a problem with the thing.

You can get headphones with low-profile connectors. My main complaint about a recessed jack is that I'd like to be able to go anywhere and plug into a friend's stereo system (if they don't have an iPod connector, they usually at least have an 1/8" stereo aux in). Having to lug around an adapter, no matter how small, is a deal-breaker.

All my connection points in the house are shaved ghetto-style because of that damned recessed jack. It is the work of the devil, I tell you! May it never return! :tounge:
