I just jailbroke my 1st generation iPhone on 2.2 firmware, and I'm having a TIME trying to find ThemeBuilder. Hell, I can't hardly find anything. Nothing seems to be where it is anymore since the last time I jailbroke on 1.1.4. Where is all the cool stuff now?
Everytime I try to add the url for the sources I had long time ago, it keeps giving me an error saying that it can't decode it. ?????
Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you using Installer or Cydia? I've found many of the good sources/repositories are on Cydia now. I don't even install Installer during Jailbreak anymore.

I have both of them. I'm trying to search on both and have found nothing. Have you found SummerBoard and ThemeBuilder on Cydia?

I use Winterboard from Cydia. The best for themes IMO.

But can you make your own with Winterboard?

It's very versatile.
You can use icons from one theme, while simultaneously using a different lock screen, system sounds, wallpapers, etc.
You can't technically create your own, but you can create a very unique theme different than anyone else. There are probably over 1000 different themes that can be used in various combinations.

I don't see how to do ANY of that in this program. All I see is a list of options to check or uncheck like User Wallpaper, User Lock Background, Transparent Dock, etc. Where am I supposed to go to do all the cool stuff?

First of all, you need to download some themes from the themes section in Cydia. You should see a bunch of theme sections starting with Apps, Battery, Complete, etc.
I would start with Springboard Themes first. Find a few you like then enable them in the Winterboard app by checking them.
In Winterboard you can move the listed themes up & down the list by dragging the 3 lines up & down on the left side.
The higher up the theme gives that theme preference over lower themes. So if a "Springboard" theme you download has a "Lockscreen" you don't like, you can download a "Lockscreen" theme and move it above the "Springboard" theme. Now, you'll have a mix of 2 different themes.
If you don't like the wallpaper of a particular theme you can check "User Wallpaper" and move it above your currently selected theme. This will allow you to use any wallpaper with any theme.

Okay, guess I'll get the hang of this after I get some sleep. I didn't know that Springboard themes would work on Winterboard, but I guess I guessed wrong.

I found your instruction helpful. However I still have problem getting a certain lock screen work. a bit weird, even I move it to the top.

Man, I am having a ball with this WinterBoard thing. I'm even making my own themes now. I just look at the way the file directory is set up and the way the files are named but I use my own files. Then I drag them to the correct directory using WinSCP and presto! :laugh2:
