My iPhone is as naked as the day it was born, and I've dropped it three times, twice on hard pavement. Still scratch- and dent-free.

Anyone else care to share their near-death experiences?

My 1st Gen Took a beating, Dropped it when I was coming out of class, Cracked the lower left screen. But it's cool. I upgraded to a 3G 16GB (White) It's almost been a week. But no Drops (Knock on Wood) and I bought a case this time.

I lost count how many times my 3G has fallen :(. It is full of scratches in the back but the front is still like new. No Scratches on the screen at all so that keeps me happy.

My v1 was droped (1st drop)with a griffin hard case and got a big long crack from top to bottom. The 2nd drop i was leaving the bar tryed to put it in my back pocket and missed. It hit the concrete face down and shattered the glass.:frown::mad: My 3G is naked now with a bodyguardz set on it. It has never touched concrete:laugh2: (knock on wood) but it has been droped on carpet a few times only about 3 feet. Once at the skillets i had my contor flick case on it and a friend hit it off the table onto thin carpet and it was ok.

I've dropped my V1 from about 4 feet high onto the pavement. Agent 18 case got dinged, but iPhone was fine.

Haven't dropped my Incase Slider protected 3G.

I dropped my Iphone naked only once and it fell face first from my pocket to a tile floor. Result = Shattered Glass Screen on upper half of phone! I only had the phone for 2 weeks.

Got lucky and Apple Genius replaced it for free...:2cool::wink:

I now have a heavy Rubberized (tire tread) case and have dropped my phone multiple times with no damage. I will never carry my Iphone naked again.

I'm such a klutz:laugh2:

You only protect it after you suffer. Once you see what i drop could do to your phone you become a little parinoid. I'll walk around without a case as soon as a better iPhone comes out. So I could have a reason to buy it. Or Just sell this one. Which Ever comes first.

 That is so TRUE! I wasn't walking around throwing my phone like a ball or anything but I wasn't as paranoid as I should have been. And then it fell.

Into the toilet. -_- I cringe whenever I look back on it.

You should see me now with my new 3G. Jeez, I'm so paranoid with it I have been reccommended to take medication. :p

Popped out of case twice, long story don't use that case any longer. No damage, landed flat on it's face on the parking lot.

Since iDay 1 my iPhones have been naked.
I've dropped my v1 iPhone (and thrown it) dozens of times and it's still going strong.
I dropped my last 3G about 10 times and the littlest drop of all cracked the screen. Since getting a new one I've dropped it about 5 times.

I dropped my V1 two or three times in a case, once I practically threw it 10 feet in front of me in a mall, but with not a single problem.

Dropped my 3G only once, in a case and the darn thing has had several problems since. ticks me off!!

I have had my 3G iphone for a little over a month now, with a pink incase slider on it since day one. I dropped it for the first time when I was getting out of my car to go to class. Nothing happened though. I just don't know what to do about checking to see if I have scratches because I can't take off my case due to the fact that it will cause my invisble shield to bubble up since the case is a tight fit. oh well...

I've only used my iPhone 3G for about 3 - 4 weeks maximum, and I've never dropped it once.

First V1 I dropped a lot... never naked, always in a silicone case. Probably about 10-12 drops from my lap onto concrete getting out of the car. It never scratched or dented or showed any signs of damage till the camera went.

Second V1 I never dropped, but the vibrator went out on its own in that one.

This third one I've never had naked and have in a hard case. I've dropped it... mmmmaybe 3 times. No scratches, dents, or issues. Pretty solid phone from all accounts...

My v1 vibrate is getting very weak. I think it's at the end of its little life.

I've dropped the phone 3 times, once w/o its case.

Without the case, i woke up, and it was cold so i pulled the sheet off the bed when i heard a loud CLAP onto the hardwood floor...no dent/scratch/dmg.

Other 2 times was with my Switcheasy Rebel case on. It fell outa my hoodies pocket onto the floor while sitting at the movies in the chair. The other, it fell outa my hoodie's pocket onto the floor while trying to aim a shot playing pool.

Still no dmg, no scratches...FLAWLESS bioootch.

Makes sense - protect your phone so you can sell it for a better price when the new one comes along. Hmm.. Ill think about it.

But I just really loooove the naked iPhone. :tounge:

Since I work in the 'complaint' department for AT&T I know how fragile the iPhone really is.. maybe not physically speaking, but policy-wise. If you break it, and there is obvious physical damage, you get to buy a brand new one for $400 (for the 8 gig). Yikes. SO I got the 'Bodyguard" screen protector (I have yet to actually put it on) and a silicone case. I purchased some other cases too but didn't like any of them as much as the silicone one. I've dropped it once, actually, on my apartment's hardwood flooring - because my foot got caught on the charger cord while it was plugged in and it went flying. But I had a plastic sheet over it temporarily (the one that comes on the phone that people usually peel off right away) and though that plastic got a hole in it, amazingly the screen is perfect as before. PHEW!! I can't afford to buy a new one for $400 right after purchasing this one for $200. I'm not made of money.

I treat mine like a baby! lol
