I have a 2G with a non responsive home button. Actually, my son's old iphone. He was required to purchase a new 3G a couple of months ago because the 2G was out of warranty and unable to sync either. Yesterday, I used Pusher on my 2G since I have not been JB since the app store. I saw an app from installer that creates a CLOSE BUTTON for those with broken home buttons. I, however, cannot get my son's 2G phone to be recognized on my MAC. Quickpawn keeps waiting for me to connect the already connected 2G iphone that the Apple genius bar also could not connect, thus the required purchase of a new 3G. ALL aspects of my son's old 2G work except I cannot connect and the HOME BUTTON does not work. Any ideas on how JB or where to sell the semi-operational 2G?

that's rough... as i'm sure you know, without syncing or the home button, an iphone is nearly crippled. I suppose a MobileMe user on a budget might be interested since they can sync contacts/calendars over-the-air.

that is also an option for you, but it would require an additional investment of $70-$100 for the mobileme service.

by the way, you can usually get the mobileme package from Amazon for less than you would directly from apple.
