Hello everyone. New to this forum and it seems like a great place for an Apple newbie like myself. I have a question regarding iTunes and the iPhone. I have a PC that I had Windows XP and iTunes installed on. My iPhone was activated on it and synced on it. I decided to install Windows 7 Ultimate on the PC and formatted the hard drive. I then installed Windows and iTunes. Everything works fine, but iTunes says that the iPhone is synced with a different iTunes account and will not sync the music from the phone back to iTunes. I'm sure this has been done before...can someone enlighten me?

Make sure you are signed into the new itunes with an account. When I got my phone activated at the Apple Store, it was activated with a generic account of one of the employees. When I got home, I had to change the account.
It is entirely possible that the new itunes that you installed isnt even set up to an account. Thats where I would start.

Thanks for the quick reply! I did log into my account both with iTunes and the iTunes store.

You're out of luck. When you formatted the hard drive, it removed the iPhone backup made by iTunes. The only thing I can think of is restoring your iPhone.

I found a program called iPod2Computer that should take care of the problem.

What are you using to store your contacts in win7?
I might be wrong, but I don't think (at least on build 7000) there is an address book or email client. So be careful.

Windows 7 Ultimate Beta build 7000 has an application called "Contacts". iTunes did a full sync of all my contact information with the PC.

Weird... I tried to find it a couple of weeks ago and couldn't. Oh well, good to know they didn't forget about it.
