Same here. Ever since I've been using smartphones, I've always kept them in my left front pants pocket, and just made sure to keep keys, pens, coins and anything else that could scratch the phone in my other pocket.

I went to the Apple store and tried every one of the cases they had available, but I didn't like any of them enough to pull the trigger. I had a Vaja for my Treo 750 that I really liked, but so far it doesn't look like Vaja has anything other than pouch-type cases for the iPhone. I'm going to give the accessory market a little time to catch up, and hopefully I'll find something I like when there are more options available.

Yup! Fits nicely into my shirt pocket when at work and my blue jeans pockets (front or rear) when at home.

Yep -- tried three cases and didn't like them. I keep the device alone in my right front pocket. It's a first for me, as nothing up til this point has been slim enough to get away with it.

I'm going to do it this way for the foreseeable future. My next accessory will be the Apple bluetooth headset.

I purchased the CLEAR Belkin one from my local AT&T store. It really is nice as it fully encases the iphone (except the entire front)...it has holes for all the necessary slots. Being clear it is hardly noticeable and will definitely protect the phone once WE ALL have that dreaded DROP of our phones to the pavement..ouch.....I think it was like $25 but well worth it.

Oh yeah..comes with a removeable clip and the clip actually can be positioned while on your desk so that your iphone kind of sits like a photo frame...pretty cool

Here's the link...check it out

I was carrying my phone around with no case until today... I finally got my molded rubber InCase, its so much better than the trashy plastic Belkin one I bought at the AT&T store.

I've been carrying mine around in my left front jeans pocket without any case. I tried to buy the InCase cover in black yesterday, but my local Apple store was out of stock (only had red and grey) and my local AT&T store has never heard of this case.

Anyhoo, I actually switched from my normal routine of carrying my phone in my right front pocket to the left front pocket because I didn't want the coin pocket rivet on my Levi's scratching the screen

I'll keep searching for the black InCase protective cover.

Everytime I buy a new gadget I buy a case that I use for about 1 day then I realize you can't fully appreciate the design when its got a case on it. I just keep it in my pocket with no other items in there. If need be I have a leather belt holster from my dash that the iPhone fits nicely in.

Any time I've ever tried one of those holster/belt jobs, I find myself catching it on everything - the arm rest of my desk chair, the seat of my car, you name it.

I'll probably try an Incase in black if I can find one. Like someone in an earlier post, my local Apple store only has gray & red in stock.

I've always crried my phones in my pocket.. Treos, Blackberries, Razrs and Krzrs (to mention a few..LOL). Don't know why, just preferred it that way I guess.. However, that being said, the iPhone sure seems to be the most "droppable" :gasp: phone I've ever owned..

Personally, for my purposes, the "EGrips" (egrips.com)are the best investment I ever made for any of these PDA's and I can't wait for them to be customized for the iPhone. I see on their site that they have the iPhone listed but haven't added the custom grip for it yet!

that clear belkin case really sucks it feels cheap, its not tight on the iphone, wont fit on the dock, makes it look more bulky, and worst of all it SCRATCHES ur iphone , everytime u wipe the screen the dirt gets accumulated on the sides , and since it moves a lil inside the case it eill scratch the metal part on ur iphone!! Also scratch the bak small scratches but its still there . So for now its nakey , i really just want like a cloth wallet to slip it in while its in my pocket, kinda like the ones ipods come wit. Know of one of those let me know please

I recently decided not to use a case. I have the clear belkin case and its nice but it makes the phone bigger and bulkier. It also hides the pure sexyness in the design of the phone. So for now.. no case. I only dropped my last phone twice and i had it for two years so i think i can handle it

Nawww...there is only one way to appreciate the design beauty of the iPhone while still providing some protection:

http://www.bestskinsever.com/servlet/StoreFront

or

http://www.shieldzone.com/

They are both really the same thing, so I usually go with the bestskin, since it's so much less expensive.

They work the same: you wet them up with Windex, then put them on your device. Wait for it to dry. Then you have this, like, indestructible coating of polymer on your device which is completely clear and invisible. I swear by them. If you take one and try to puncture it, you can't! I've never had a single scratch since I've been using these. Have them on several iPods, Treo, Q, etc.

Best of all: device still fits perfectly into all your peripherals! You don't have to keep taking it out of the case to fit it into the dock.

Only downside: if you actually drop your iPhone, it won't protect it from internal jarring of the machinery. But even if you drop it, it will NOT scratch the device - only the skin. Also, the iPhone (and the iPod, for that matter) are slippery little buggers. With this skin on, it provides just the right amount of tackiness to make your grip on the phone much, much surer.

No case for me, just a clear crystal film that covers the shiny parts and the screen.

I've got the dlo jam jacket at the att store on launch day (only 15 bucks there)... http://dlo.com/Products/jjcord_iPhone_Prod.tpl?command=showpage&cart=118368009112481078 .

Overall i'm very happy with it. It adds grip to my iphone which can be slippery. The four corners have a little extra rubber on them for added protection if you drop it. the thing i really like is the headset wrap on the back--very helpful.

I did get the clear one but it still does somewhat hide the beauty of the device and it doesn't fit as tightly as i'd like it too. Its not a bad fit or anything, but i'd just like it alittle tighter.

I just posted in another thread to see if anyone has tried either of these. I used a skin from bestskinever for my ipod and it's great. Have you used either of these on your iphone? I don't think that the screen needs it but the back of the iphone looks like it will.

Since getting my iPhone on Monday, it's been in my front left pocket. But that's driving me crazy as I'm used to using a nice leather belt holster for me old phone. Not to mention I usually keep my keys in that pocket. As soon as I can get the time, I plan on heading over to the AT&T store to pick up one of the nice Leather belt holsters for my phone.

I, too, hate the cases that are form fitting and stay on the phone. This iPhone is an absolute gorgeous piece of equipment, and to cover that with an ugly rubber case is too much for me. Whereas a leather belt holster protects the iPhone, but still lets you show it off when you're using it.

I purchased one of those black incase rubber holders that have the tree bark pattern on it but I'm going to return it. The big thing about the iPhone is the aesthetics of it. If you add a case, it totally takes away from that aspect of the phone, in my opinion.

I am until tomorrow when my Invisible Shield arrives from SheildZone. I've put the Invisible Shield on everything I own that has a screen, except for my MacBook Pro, and love it. I had it on my previous phone, LG Prada, and it totally protected it. Can't wait to get my iPhone protected!

When mine arrives it will be uncovered. I hate cases. None of them are ever any good. I always have lint stuck under them after being in my pocket and I have to keep taking the case off to clean it, or they don't fit tight. Plus they make the phone feel heavier, and the belt clip ones are the worst. My dad's last phone popped off his belt when he bent down, and I had one once that kept getting stuck on things as others have said earlier.

This is definitely what I'm looking for....but the layout of the one from invisibleShield doestn' look like it covers the silver border (which I think is the most scratch prone).....Does the one from Best Skins Ever? Or is there another Full Body Cover that will cover the border?
