Available Memory

How much memory should be available when I am not using any applications? Better question I guess would be what is optimal in terms of available memory?

Not sure there...I think I read somewhere that the iPhone 3G has 128MB of RAM.

When I open up SBsettings after a clean boot, it says I have almost 60MB free...

When I open up my 8 GB iPhone when I have a theme installed it is usually around 16 mb or so which to me seems low. With out a theme it goes up to around 30 to 32 mb. I don't have that much installed on my phone so I was just wondering what the norm is.
