Bluetooth scanning doesn't work

Hey does anyone else have problems scanning for other phones with bluetooth? Because my friend can scan for others on his phone and get a list of other phones or devices that have bluetooth but when I search with my iPhone 3G it just says "Searching for devices" and doesn't show anything even when there's some nearby. Is it just my phone or is it suppose to be like this?Please reply. Thanks

I think the iphone will scan for other devices such as bluetooth headsets, but i dont think it will scan for other bluetooth phones, but i could be wrong. Ive got a pair of mp3/bluetooth sunglasses that the iphone scanned and connected right away to, so it does connect to various devices, just not other phones.

Currently, BlueTooth ONLY works with Headsets and Car Kits. No file transfers, No business card transfers. (honestly, it makes it almost pointless to have)
