Does Voicemail trick still work to get mono audio over BT?

I've saw in several places that people say to go to visual voicemail and change the source to the BT device and it'll play the audio in mono.

This does work by playing the voicemail and changing the source but once the VM is over the audio goes away.

Am I doing something wrong or did they fix this in the latest Iphone software which I have installed.

You should still be able to listen to your voicemail over bt but that is about it.
