I just installed software update 10.5.6, and in my battery percentage it said I had 0% while being connected to the AC for about 10 minutes. Now it says I have 7% but every time I remove the AC cable my computer shuts off. What should I do??

i would take your battery out for a few minutes, and then put it back in.
if that doesn't help, it's probably a bad battery. Is your mac under warranty?

No its not under warranty. I just bought a battery like 5 months ago, its practically brand new.I wasn't having problems with it until I updated.

Witness, have you noticed anything else strange about 10.5.6. Since installing 10.5.6, I can't shake the feeling that my iMac has been more sluggish.

Cool. Plus you could always reset the battery indicator. It involved taking the battery out and pressing some buttons, but it basically resets your battery to "new" and probably a more accurate display of health.

Do you know specifically how to do this?

MacBook, MacBook Pro
If the computer is on, turn it off.
Disconnect the AC Adapter and remove the computer's battery.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds and then release the button.
Reconnect the battery and AC Adapter.
Press the power button to restart the computer
From Apple's website.

From Apple's website.
Ohh. I've done that before... The Apple rep had me do it to my iMac, however... ?

Don't ask me...
Actually, all they had me do was unplug it and press and hold the power button for a little bit.
Don't know what the purpose is for on an iMac...

he reset the system management controller... it handles power stuff, so if you have weird power issues, it may help.

i didn't look at that link close enough... that is specifically written for Mac Pros, but the concept should be the same on all macs.
It might be worth a shot for you to try.

Well, luckily I didn't upgrade to 10.5.6, I haven't heard good things about it from anyone. Not even from my Internet Service Provider.

it's workin' great for me.
by the way, ISPs like to bad mouth anything if it will allow them to shift blame off of them.

Lmao so true dude. They always like to blame others for crappy connections. You know once my speed was really low, there was something wrong with the connection, you know what they told me? They said, your Windows is probably downloading something for its database files, it's complicated, that you can't really see or do anything about, and that's what is affecting the internet..two hours later it was written in the Newspaper that the internet in Egypt and the whole region got screwed, because undersea marine cables were accidentally cut and it took them like more than 4 weeks to fix.
Ugh, those were seriously the best 4 weeks of my life, I wasn't as lazy :p.
