Right after I bought my iphone back in Aug I was looking how to save email attachments and I found some application that allowed this. It was however only for jailbreaked iphone so I could not use it. Few days ago I successfully jailbreaked iphone but now I can not find this application and I don't remember its name. Can somebody help? Thanks!

You can save pictures in mails by hold your finger on the picture for few seconds...but saving docs etc...I don't know, but I'll guess you have to be jailbroken! And maybe the app is: iShare?

I've been running into the same problem and spent 1/4 the day googling for an iPhone app that saves email attachments as a standalone file in the iPhone filesystem.
Most of the google results addressed saving images in emails. We want to save all types of files. If someone knows of an app (jailbroken or not) please reply to this thread. Thanks.

AttachmentSaver is the answer to your question. It allows you to save any attachments (http://www.iphonedownloadblog.com/2009/08/11/attachmentsaver-save-email-attachments-on-iphone/) received by email to your iPhone

You'll need iFile as well to manage your saved attachments. They work great together, and you can use iFile to email attachments as well.

Yes - I use and really like iFile myself to save pics, MS office docs, text, PDFs, etc...
