View Full Version : Help?!? Some emails go just to iPhone not Mac

My problem is this - much as I ADORE my new 3g 16gig iPhone, (part from no cut'n'paste, no to do in ical etc) I have a major problem between iPhone email and Mail on my Powerbook G4.

If the iPhone is set to receive emails, then it seems slightly sporadic in getting them, but when it does, there are always a few which never ever reach the Mail program in the Powerbook, just my email server (Google Mail) and the iPhone. The problem this creates is that I only seriously read and respond to mails on the Powerbook, so can easily miss one completely. I have no idea why, or what there should be about these emails that make them any different to cause this,

The other odd thing is that it's created 2 duplicate accounts in the iPhone for one of the accounts in the Mac, so it doubles the number of unread emails on the iPhone icon, So it can say 20, which means 10 identical mails on each identical account, so if for instance I read 5 on one of these accounts, the total then shows as 10, 5 on each account. So when I'm reading them, I'm actually reading both, though I only look at one (if you see what I mean). Very strange.

Powerbook Mail is version 3.5 (930.3), iPhone came loaded with 2.2 (which I think is latest), and Powerbook is running 10.5.6

Does anyone have either experience of this problem, or some wisdom that might point me in the right direction please? I daren't leave the iPhone turned on to receive emails or else the odd one or two that don't get picked up could be important ones - and I use the Powerbook for emailing proper, just send brief quick return messages in the iPhone usually, so don't look through all mails.

Apologies for the long winded message, but difficult to describe the problem without going into details...

Anyone have any thoughts? Would be much appreciated, thanks.

Cheers,
