Urgh, had to get a new mag safe today...

This is more of a rant than anything.... but with only having this mac for all of 2 months, the mag safe has gone to hell and didn't come back today.

About 3 days into owning it, my dog got to the mag end of the cord, but it still worked. About 2 weeks ago, my wife pulled on the cord and stripped off some of the rubber coating, but it still worked. Today, I go to plug it in and the mag end apparently was put into my wife's bowl of left over ice cream and strawberry topping. I don't know how thats even possible, but needless to say, the cord was FUBAR at this point. SOOO 80 dollars later, I have a new mag safe.

Anyways, anyone got any ideas on how to keep this one from getting ruined by the dogs and/or wife???

When you're not using it or don't need it, wrap the cord up and store it someplace.

I know one thing I'm not let anyone eat a bowl of melted ice cream close to my MacBook. If you have a dog that chews I suggest putting your mac away so he can't get to it. An even better idea get rid of the dog and the wife. The mac will serve you better anyway in the longrun.

I don't mean to laugh, but that chain of event is funny. Ice cream? Really? lol. I would say just move the charger when you're not using it. Pretty simple fix, eh? ;)

No, its ok. It is funny for everyone else but me. I do move the charger, its my wife that lets the wires fall between the bed and the wall, lets it hang on the floor so the dogs can get to it and puts the end of the charger in odd places.... This is nuts, having to replace a charger after two weeks.... But she doesn't seem to care, its just money to her, MY MONEY I MAKE!

I tell you what go throw her make up, shoes, or whatever she cares about in the trash. When she throws a fit just tell her "it's just money" I'm sure her veiws will change. ( I'm not a professional and my relationships suck)
