I've looked around and I can't find the awnser for me question . I get lots of wmv files on email and I seem to be having trouble plaing them on my new macbook. I asked the "genius" at the apple store when I bought it if it would play them he said it would.
Am I doing something wrong , do I need to change something or will it just not play them since they are windows media

Thanks
I am slowly figuring this thing out lol

VLC media player (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/download-macosx.html) is another option. It plays anything. Even non-media.

The only problem with Flip 4 Mac is that each .wmv has to be coded every time you play it by Quicktime, which can take a minute or two- depending on the length of the video.

VLC is really glitchy for me. It either crashes or I get distortion when I try fast forwarding through movies.

huh... i've found just the opposite. I started using it because quicktime was f'ing up more and more.

Mac is starting to seem like an inconsistent OS.

The OS is fine... i just think Quicktime is lacking a bit.

It works perfect for me, but VLC is a trainwreck.
