I think you're right.
Incidentally, I spent a week or so in Myanmar (Burma) in the 80s. I stayed with the undersecretary of the American embassy and his family. He had a big dinner party the first night and I got to sit at the table with people such as the Chief of Staff of the Pakistani Air Force (at the time). He was incredibly interesting to talk to. I also got to see a recently-discovered reclining Buddha encrusted with jewels in the jungle. It was as big as a house!
Overall, an interesting trip.

Worked at the American Embassy for 5 months back in 2000. I remember the shwinagon and visiting the monks at there camp.
