So I just subscribed to mobileme and I wasnt sure why there was so much negative feedback on it...so opted for the trial just so i could see for myself. It did take some configuration, and I did have to contact apple in order to get it to work correctly...but since then i have had no problems at all..it works like a charm..yes i would like instant push..but 15min isnt all that bad. if i have email sent to my new me.com email..it comes instantly. I have it synced with my laptop and my home computer...both PCs and sync with outlook..it works great!

So what are all the issues that everyone is having? Am I missing something here? I would like to know how everyone elses experience with mobileme. Because at this moment, ive had no problems with mine.

I have had no big problems with MobileMe. The me.com website can be a little biy buggy, but nothing to bad. The important stuff works well for me.

It was spotty at best, destructive at worst initially.

But it's been working like a dream for me since. Calendars and contacts sync beautifully with the cloud and therefore with my computer and my wife's computer and iPhone.

Early on during the launch, they had a lot of issues. But, been using it since September and I have nothing to complain about. It works great!

iPhone --> iMac works fine
iMac --> iPhone does not synch my calendar or contact updates, despite attempting ALL of the remedies.

I know its really stupid of me - but what is MobileMe? Is it an app that keeps all your usernames and passwrods to save typing them in

It syncs contacts, calendars and mail wirelessly with your computers and other iPhones if you have.

I find it extremely useful. I make a change on one device, it's on the others in short order. It can also provide push e-mail if you use the "me.com" e-mail address that comes along with the service. I barely use the e-mail part, but others do.

I'm an old iTools/.Mac user from 2001, and it always was something that I paid for, year after year, due to the syncing to multiple Macs. But MobileMe really was a step in an exciting direction. But beginning in July, it was really really slow and buggy, unreliable e-mail, etc. Since then, I've bounced back and forth between using it and Gmail--but as of the 10.5.6 rollout, I've found the web interface to be BETTER (still not stellar), and the push update conflicts are all gone. It still needs work syncing with Windows, but on my Macs it's terrific!
