I struggled to find a free solution to this problem, so i thought somebody else might aswel.
I use Outlook at work because my office use it, and have a macbook at home and an Iphone 3g. I needed just 1 calendar, and i wanted it synced to my iphone and ical at home. The problem was i could use exchange server, but then i couldnt get calendar to ical, or i could use ical, but then couldnt sync the calendar back to outlook....
Instead of paying for mobile me, in my office i sync my Outlook calendar with Google Calendar by downloading Googles free calendar sync...this runs in the background and you can set it to sync 1 or 2 ways and set the time interval.
Then at home, i sync Ical with Google Calendar, again with there free tool, 2 way syncing, runs in the background and auto syncs every 30 mins (user set).
I can then sync my Iphone with my mac, and i have up to date calendars on all devices...because the iphone 2 way syncs with ical (i know the iphone will only be up to date when i sync, but i sync every night anyway...)
Hope this helps
