when my phone is locked, it still announces calls and texts on the front screen....how can I hide these announcemenst until I unlock the phone???

You have to set password up under the settings and that'll stop it from being seen untill you enter the password...

Text notifications still display even with a password on lock screen.

With the password login screen you can only see the names - not the message. I hope Apple would give us an option to "Hide all messages"..

i did it with pysl all i have is the notification and the number pop up indicating i have a new text message no pop up screens for me

there are a couple of different apps you can download from Cydia, I havent seen these available on Installer
Download either Ibacklist or Bosstools. Both apps allow you to block the names of the missed/received texts/calls coming up on your screen
For example a text message is received. The name will not be displayed but will simply say 'Text Message'
Pretty cool and keeps you guessing!
