Hello,
After devating with myself wether an iphone is the best phone for me, I have decided to go for it but I still need your input. I'm currently a blackberry user and I love the fact that i received my emails almost immediately. However, i like the look of the iphone and the size of the screen and the features. So, am I making a good moved or should I stick to the blackberry.

Thanks

Im defenitely looking for a great email browser, calendar and email. I use maps a lot since I travel quite a bit.

For email you can use push if your email supports it, which would be instant. You can also schedule fetch email which isn't that bad.

The best thing you can do is compare features. Write down a list of positives and negatives for each phone, and compare them. The iPhone isn't perfect, but it could work out for you. Personally I love mine, but I don't require email instantly and I don't need copy and paste.

One very important thing to consider...do NOT "hope" that they will come out a feature you might be interested in, ie MMS, copy/paste etc. Make your decision based on what the phones you are deciding between currently have, not what you might think they will have.
That will save some frustration in the future..

MMS is not important since the blackberry does not have mms. What is the copy/paste feature you are talking about? The 16gb iphone is more than enough space. I use a mac for my own business so the abiity to sync my calendar, contacts with mac is very important.

Well, it gets much talk on this forum. It is the ability to copy, say a link, and paste somewhere else, maybe an email or something. BB have this capability, but iPhone does not.

That is one nice feature but nothing that will matter in my decision. As far as the screen keyboard, is it easy to use and get use to? i have tried the screen on the ipod touch and i was quite comfortable with it.

Motojavs,

It takes a bit getting used to...the keyboard that is. I came from a Treo 650 and I am just getting the hang of the keyboard. You can download a free app from the App Store called "Easy Email".....it allows you to do emails in landscape mode...thus a bigger keyboard. If you are comfortable with the Touch then you should be fine with the iPhone.

You may want to go to an Apple Store if you have one nearby. Try using the calendar out. It has some nice features but they take a bit to get used to. I liked my calendar on the Palm Treo but am now a bit more comfortable with the iPhone calendar.

Best of luck in your decision!

It is the same as the iPod touch. I can type faster on this phone than any other phone I have had. Once you get used to it, you will never want to use any other keyboard. The hardest thing to get use to in re beginning is what part of your finger hits the screen. I absolutely love the virtual keyboard and the auto correction tool as I type.

Thanks for the tip!!! I will definitely download the free app. I use the calendar on my macbook so I think (not sure) they are pretty much the same. The more I think about it, the more I like the iphone. I will post my decision this week. Thanks for all the help and tips.

If push e-mail is still important to you, you have several options, which in other threads I know have been discussed to death: MobileMe, Yahoo Plus and Exchange mail all push to the iPhone. I was a MobileMe user for a while, and the push e-mail was pretty cool.

Hello,
As promised, I have made my decision and I went with the white 16gb Iphone 3G instead of the blackberry. After using the iphone it became very easy to learn it and to get used to. I actually like the on-screen keyboard and dont miss the qwerty one from my bb.
