My Safari is sticking and sometimes shuts down. Is there an upgrade or a fix?

You can try updating your phone to 2.2 if you haven't already.

This is a problem that has been present since the release of the first iPhone. All the updates that have been released were supposed to address this problem but still has not worked out just right...Mark

I wish people would start listing sites that crash frequently for them. Of all the sites I visit regularly on my phone, only slashdot has ever crashed on me. I know I'm a lucky one, but I'm curious if these crashes are repeatable on all iPhones if we all visit the same sites.

nice point but I think the reason they crash is because there is just too much stuff going on and it shuts the program down the only time mine used to crash was loading the apple page and trying to look around.

Safari constantly crashes while I'm on EIC (not in the forum but home page). I have also found that "Busy" HTML, Flash, and heavy graphics always crash safari. I think the processor and memory is just not up to par to execute several different tasks at once..Mark

I thought about it and I think your right. Some of the sights I went to had a lot going. Thanks.

If your iPhone is unlocked DO NOT upgrade to 2.2! Many have had there phones locked or damaged (firmware).

-Because there is a jailbreak and unlock for 2.2...just as long as your using the v1/2G model

This whole crash thing really baffles me. I can't believe that I am just a lucky one, but I rarely, rarely, rarely ever have a crash of any kind. These phones are all working on the same OS, so there has to be another reason somewhere for this crashing. Is it mostly on JB phones, or a little of both? Would be interesting to know.

I heard all kinds of sad stories about their 3G phones getting messed up not just bricked in unlocked (not jailbroken) iphones after they upgraded to firmware 2.2.

Did they forget to restore first? ...

A number of them said they had restored. I heard that sometimes the restore locks up and does not complete. Maybe this is the problem.
