Iphone Wont Sync. Vibrates Twice.

Ive tried a search a few times now but it just wont work at all for me.

So my Iphone 3G wont sync at all when i plug the iphone into the Mac it just vibrates twice then nothing and it doesnt show in itunes either.

Any help?

I vaguely remember some folks not being able to sync in the past. If my memory serves me, trying disabling your internet connection first, then attempt a sync. Something to do with a crash report server. That might work.

Did it just recently start doing this or has it always done this?

Did you jailbreak? If so, you may have to go into recovery mode.

No its not jail broken.

& ive had it for a month or so and it has always synced fine before but now its playing up.

hmh.. I'm fresh out of ideas. Other may have some clues, but I'm going to suggest a restore of the phone. Hopefully you have all of your contacts and data backed up already.

DFU Restore:
Connect your iPhone to your computer.
Turn iPhone off.
Hold power and home together for 10 seconds (exactly).
Release power but keep holding home until the computers beeps as a USB device is recognized.
A few seconds later iTunes should detect your iPhone.
Restore from there
