Upgrading G1 IPhone

Hi:

I just joined. It semms to be a cool place to learn and share.

I have a G1 IPhone, and unlocked it with Ziphone software. So far it works very nice. I use it overseas. The fact now, is that nowadays there is almost no support for updating apps for G1, unless you upgrade the ITunes software. But by doing so, the phone could become freezed or a brick.

Do you know if there is a way to update the apps, and even download new apps from Apple Store (the free ones), bypassing the locks?

im almost positive that you can unlock your phone to use with other carriers up to fw 2.1. you can use quickpwn or pwnage to jailbreak. i have a the version one iphone and am updated and customized all over the place. look into it

Yes...I am proof of that you can update your iPhone v1 to 2.2 and still jailbreak and unlock it :laugh2:
-first restore to 2.2 then Jailbreak and unlock and it will all be done...2.xx is A LOT BETTER than any firmware before it you wont be disapointed!!
