help with iphone standard dialer?

hi. i jailbroke my 1.1.1 iphone(2G) with pwnage to version 2.2. all is fine.downloaded a few apps etc. that was a few days ago. Now my dialer doesnt work. when i click phone it loads up....but no numbers or phone icon there and then crashes and goes back to the main screen. i hear that the program KATE can effect that. i did have that program and i have now deleted it, but still having the same problem. any ideas please?

You need to do a complete restore to be safe. Yes KATE sucks and is the cause to a tremendous amount of issues. Restore fresh to 2.2 and then re-jailbrake. Alot of trouble, I know, but you'll be happy when it's done.

thanks for the advice. i was thinking that i may have to do that again. it was a pain in the arse the first time,because the connection kept getting interupted for some reason between itunes and my iphone
