How to upgrade to 2.2?

I have a jailbroke phone and am considering upgrading to the 2.2 version because it is now conflicting with some of the upgrades (actually quite a few) to my applications. I was wondering what were the proper steps in doing so. What do I need to back up and what will I have to reinstall?

Any suggestions anyone?

instead of backing everything, why dont you just upgrade the software and re-download it all. Doing this you will find new app's which you didnt previously have and sometimes when updating the software; your app will get a new icon...
