Stolen iPhone, meh

So my iPhone was stolen from the gym. What are my chances of getting it back? No one can activate it right? What if they jailbreak it or unlock it...will this erase the IMEI or whatever? This sucks. I suppose I could now get a 3G one, lol.

If you are a legitimate contract holder, inform the company and they will block the IMEI so it then becomes useless as a phone on any network.

Supposedly, they don't do that in the US, but it never hurts to try.

I already notified AT&T. I'm not sure what they're going to do about it. I was just wondering if there's someway the person can get around the IMEI thing. If they can't get around it, then my chances of seeing it again are better :).

I've had my iPhone stolen before and all they can do is block the IMEI number that. . .that is if you are with At&t and a contract and everything.
-If you were jailbroken/unlocked on another carrier and since you werent in At&t's service they cant do anything...so in this case the person can easily go an activate it for there use :(

Yup. IMEI is tied to the device (International? Mobile Equipment Identifier)

I honestly don't think At+T will block the IMEI...from what I have heard...a person who "finds" an iPhone can just activate it on their own account and go merrily on their way....apparently AT+T doesn't really want to help get your phone back....which kind of sucks...

But one good thing that I've recently found out is that one of my weightlifting is good friends with the older brother of the guy who stole my iPhone...So if all goes well I may get my original 8gb iPhone back:laugh2:

-Eventhough 7% bodyfat may seem nice its useless when your as small as I am:tounge: Im told that I am strong for my size and Im as people would say "cut" but IMO its totally pointless if you dont have any weight to back it up which what Ive been trying to gain FOREVER!! Everything I eat goes nowhere:tounge: The abs and stuff are nice to have and get compliments from but if I ever got into a fight they could not help me at all because they seem to be just for "show".

PDS that would be great if you got your phone back. That has been and still is very troublesome for you. Always remember to be the bigger man. Never do anything you don't want to read about in the local newpaper's headlines or that can effect your future. Best of luck on getting it back.

Lol bro, you're like my best friend and my cousin. They both are skinny too and if even when they eat so so much they still don't gain any weight. That's how your body is and it won't change. Sav, don't forget that I stayed about a week not active at all, because I was really busy studying for the ELPET exam, taking sessions, etc. and also because the internet in my region was screwed up, it still is, but we recovered like 70% of the speed.
