On an AT&T family plan can you have phones with diff area codes? I'd like to add my mom to our AT&T family plan but she lives in a diff state.

Well if you have the nationwide plan it really doesn't matter I think.

I don't see why they can't allow it. Verizon does and I'm pretty sure Sprint did too (when I had them). Oh well I will try calling AT&T when the time comes.

I actually just went through this as I am getting married soon. What I was told that AT&T has the US divided into different markets and as long as the number you want to add is in the same market then the area code does not matter. I am from Alaska and she is from Idaho so we had to change her area code. You'll have to talk to a service rep to find out if you are in the same markets.

Thanks for the info. I'm guessing my mom and I are in different markets since she is in California and I'm in the midwest.
