Hello everyone.

Last evening I turned off my iPhone and left it off over night. I haven't turned the phone off in a while, so I figured it would be good to give it a rest! When I turned on the phone this morning, the iPhone asked me to connect it to iTunes immediately. The only function I could perform was placing an emergency call. When I connected the phone to iTunes, my display advised that the phone was now activated! I was concerned that all my data etc. was going to be wiped clean, but it wasn't...thankfully.

I am just wondering why this happened. Do you think it is something worth talking about with an Apple rep?

Thanks.

Is the phone functioning as normal now? If so I wouldn't worry about it unless it happens again.

It seems to be ok now...I have not read about this happening to others...just wanted to make sure!

Thanks.

You will find many a funky "one time occurance" on your iphone. Remember it is somewhat like a computer in many ways. Every once in a while for no reason you will get a hicup. And when you do "hit the forum"

Welcome to EIC. I don't blame you for the concern. I too have never heard this one before, but if all goes well I wouldn't worry about it. As was stated, sometimes weird things happen just like on a computer. If this occurs again than I would take it to Apple.

I also have had some weird issues with mine. It sometimes just does something crazy but a simple power down will usually fix the issue. Like others have said I wouldn't worry about it unless it becomes more frequent.
